American Days in Aalborg City

Rebildselskabet is the first Danish-American friendship association and has existed for more than 100 years. Through their community and volunteer work, they highlight the value of freedom, friendship and unity between Denmark and the USA.
In Aalborg, we mark the US Independence Day on July 4th with festivities at Gabels Torv on Tuesday, July 2nd, where the square is decorated and there are various activities that help support and highlight the friendly ties between the US and Denmark.

On July 2, Alexander Janku and Peter Løhde from the podcast Vanvittig Verdenshistorie will visit Gabels Torv. The two share a common passion for beer, humor and wild stories, and with Vanvittig Verdenshistorie they combine all three elements.

You can also enjoy delicious grilled gourmet burgers from Restaurant MEAT, quench your thirst with a delicious beer from Thisted Bryghus and check out the beautiful American cars from American Wheels that will adorn the square. There will also be a party from 15-17 with the Aalborg Gospel Choir.

The Independence Day celebrations will take place on July 4 in Rebild Bakker.

There will be an exhibition from the Danish Emigrant Archive every day from July 1 - 4 at Gabels Torv and in Arkivstræde 1 behind Vor Frue Kirke, where they are located.
